Acne treatment

Is acne treatable?

Everybody associates acne with adolescence. This is a misconception, as up to 40% of adults have been struggling with acne for most of their lives. We are committed to instilling the awareness that acne is a disease that can be cured. It is worth knowing that acne is a chronic, civilization based disease which significantly reduces the quality of life of patients, and in some cases can leave visible scars and post-inflammatory discoloration.

A comprehensive therapy under the guidance of an experienced dermatologist and cosmetologist allows to diagnose the cause of the problem and also to reduce the causes of its formation. Effective treatment of acne allows for scars and marks prevention. At   mClinic we include pharmacological treatment, arrange treatment programs and choose individual skin care.

Acne is the most common dermatological disease of adolescence, associated with seborrhea, formation of comedones, papules and pustules.

The causes of acne formation:

  • hypertrophy of the sebaceous glands combined with increased sebum secretion.
  • Excessive keratinization of the sebaceous glands – secretion and formation of papules.
  • The influence of hormones – mainly androgens.
  • Proliferation of propionibacterium acnes bacteria, whose presence in the sebaceous glands promotes the formation of inflammatory lesions within the skin.
  • Inadequate skin care

Acne Symptoms:

Skin lesions that occur in acne are seborrhea, comedones (open and closed), papules, pustules, and less commonly inflammatory infiltrates and cysts. There are several types of acne:

  • comedonal
  • papulopustular
  • scarring
  • purulent

The areas most prone to acne formation are the face, upper back and chest.
